Some products go through a final configuration and calibration before being shipped. If the calibration labs are busy this can add up to two days on to the delivery schedule but guarantees a fresh calibration.
The Octave Band Combination Kit is ideal for very high noise level environments. Both sound level meter and noise dosimeters have real-time octave band filters for a more detailed description of the noise.
The hand-held meter and the dosimeters both make all the measurements needed by the noise at work regulations, so either can be used to make a full assessment and noise reports. You have the option to choose which method to use: hand held or noise dosimetry.
The octave band filter measurements can be used to analyse machinery noise in more detail. For noise at work measurement the most common use for octave bands is for detailed selection of hearing protectors. This can be carried out in the NoiseTools software that is included.
The Octave Band Combination Kit includes the following:
This kit includes everything needed for a full noise at work assessment in line with the UK and EU guidelines, including areas with very high noise levels that benefit from an octave band analysis.
The Octave Band Combination Kit is for occupational noise surveys, noise exposure assessments and hearing protection assessments in high noise industrial environments. A full noise risk assessment can be carried out using either the noise dosimeters or the hand held sound level meter, depending on the movements of the worker and the environment they are in.
Detailed hearing protection checks can be carried out using the octave band measurements. There are a number of ways of calculating the sound level at the ear when wearing protection, but for high noise levels the octave band method is considered the most accurate.
For other meters and factory noise monitors please visit our Occupational Noise page.
For workers who move around between different locations, for those working in hazardous environments or just when it is difficult to make the measurements with a hand held meter, the doseBadge noise dosimeter is the best way to find out the noise exposure or LEP,d.
For areas where the noise level cannot be reduced to a safe level, workers must be provided with suitable hearing protection. The octave band measurements can be downloaded to the NoiseTools software and used to calculate the level at the ear when wearing different protectors.
The doseBadge Pro is a small noise dosimeter that mounts on the worker's shoulder in order to measure noise exposure throughout the working shift. It is fully self-contained, with rechargeable battery and microphone built in.
The noise dosimeter is fixed to the worker's clothing or overalls using the clips provided. Once running it continuously measures the sound levels, recording the levels every second and calculating the total noise exposure (LEP,d) in line with the noise at work regulations.
This is the Pro version of the doseBadge, so it includes extra functionality such as octave band filters, multiple channels and fast charge time. It is suitable for use in all international occupational noise regulations in case you need to use it in different regions.
This Combination Kit includes the CR162C Optimus Industrial Sound Level Meter. This is a Class 2 Integrating sound level meter with octave band filters. If you only need a hand-held meter and not the noise dosimeters then this meter can be bought on its own on the Optimus Industrial page.
After identifying areas with very high noise levels, you can make octave band measurements to pick out the frequency content of the noise. These measurements can be used to estimate the sound level at the ear when using different hearing protectors.
If you need to measure occupational noise and environmental noise then the Environmental and Occupational Combination Kit may be a better option as it includes a Class 1 sound level meter with extra environmental noise measurement parameters.
The CMB162C/x Combination Kits include the NoiseTools software, which provides the following functions:
There is no extra charge for the NoiseTools software and it can be installed on multiple computers without the need for extra licences. You can read more about this software's features and the meters it supports on the NoiseTools Software page.
An application for mobile phones or tablets can be used to control the doseBadge Pro and view ongoing noise measurements. This app is also free of charge.
